The Best Of The Best

By danielmetcalf

I was thinking about writing a review on Hell in a Cell PPV but eventually decided not to and instead of waiting for Friday’s Smackdown show to start my ’serious blogging’, I thought I would give you a little something to read right now, basically I’m just going to give a paragraph each on three superstars who I think are the best in WWE right now.

CM Punk

Right now CM Punk is one of the best performers in WWE, he has been absolutely fantastic on Smackdown recently and has done a great job in his new role as a heel. Since joining Smackdown we all knew that he would cash in his Money In The Bank Briefcase, eventually he did and to the fans disappointment it was to Jeff Hardy’s misfortune, having only just won the title for only the second time in his career. After that CM Punk turned completely from the lovable fan favouritethat he was on Raw to a full blown heel on Smackdown. During Punk’s era as Champion, as part of what he calls a new generation we have seen many fantastic matches including one fantastic encounter with Jeff Hardy in TLC. CM Punk has showed why he is Champion, defying odds and beating some of the best superstars around, even if it was controversially. He lost the Championship on the weekend which was extremely un-fair in my opinion, I am not a very big fan of the Undertaker for numerous reasons; he only wrestles once a fortnight and his matches are extremely short, he gets tired easily and expects to be made champion despite being out for months long, WWE need to stop this ‘Undertaker can’t lose normally to Punk’ thing and give CM Punk his title back, at least for now, until Undertaker earns it.

Chris Jericho

Chris JerichoDespite there being only two blog posts before this one you might already be able to tell how much I love this guy. Chris Jericho is a fantastic performer, an asset to the company. He performs two times every week, once on each show and always puts on a good show. In recent months we’ve seen some of the best matches this year with him and Chris Jericho and Jerishow have brought a bit more prestige to the tag team division. Jericho is enjoyable to watch and fantastic on the mic, him and Big Show have worked as a team beating some great teams like MVT and Batista-Mysterio and no-one looks like stopping them at the moment (Although expect a DX/Jerishow title match soon, I think it should happen, and would be extremely pleased if it did).

John Morrison

John MorrisonSince joing Smackdown John Morrison has been a revolution. Already a main-eventer John Morrison is one of theĀ  most exciting young superstars around. His fighting style is fantastic and he is such a great wrestler to watch. He’s already beaten CM Punk twice, put on a great show against Jeff hardy and beaten Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinential Championship, which he still has after beatin Dolph Ziggler at Hell In A Cell. All this just shows how much talent he has and the ‘Friday Night Delight’ can only keep improving, expect him to be challenging to the WWE/Heavyweight belts in the future. On a side note, at Bragging Rights PPV I expect that he will face The Miz, his former partner in a match, as it’s IC/USA and SD/Raw, I’m not too sure about this one, it could be great but I’m not the Miz’es (not sure if that’s how your write it) biggest fan and would have preferred that Raw let someone like Evan Bourne have the title, that would be a fantastic match.

Anyway, that’s it, the end of my blog. Thanks for reading and I hope you liked my mini-review on those three-superstars. Hopefully I’ll have one or two more blogs up at the end of the week (including a review of Smackdown’s show) so look out for them.

I agree that there has been a much bigger improvement since John Morrison’s joined Smackdown as a singles competitor.

The same has happened with a lot of other Smackdown superstars like Dolph Ziggler, he was nothing on Raw now on Smackdown he’s nearly got the United States Championship.

Great site, I like the design and your writing :)
